For Clients · Supply Chain Procurement

Choosing supply chain procurement software? Start with where your spend sits, not a module list.

Supply chain procurement software runs how a company sources, contracts, buys, and pays: sourcing events and negotiation, supplier management and risk, contracts, intake and procure-to-pay, AP automation and e-invoicing, spend analytics, and, for companies that move goods, freight procurement. The selection fails when clients, the companies evaluating technology, compare module lists, because every suite lists every module. What differs is depth where your spend actually sits: direct materials or indirect, freight or services, a few large categories or a long tail; and whether your suppliers will join the system you choose.

PreShiftIQ brings independent, client-aligned matching to the category. You complete a structured assessment of how your spend divides, the modules in scope, the freight modes you procure, your supplier base, and the ERP procurement has to reach, and we match you on measured fit rather than marketing. PreShiftIQ charges the client nothing for the match.

Is a suite actually what you need?

Sometimes not. A company buying mostly software and services can be well served by an intake and procure-to-pay tool, while a manufacturer whose spend is raw materials, components, and freight needs sourcing depth that an indirect-first suite may not carry. A platform chosen for its module count gets used for the modules nobody needed, and the categories that carry the spend go back to email and spreadsheets.

A module list cannot tell you whether a vendor's depth covers the categories that carry a quarter of your spend. It cannot tell you whether its bid events support the freight modes you buy. And it cannot tell you whether your suppliers will be charged to use the network.

Those questions decide whether a procurement platform fits, and they decide whether it gets adopted or becomes shelfware next to the inbox it was meant to replace. That is where PreShiftIQ sits.

The question What a feature list tells you What PreShiftIQ does
Which vendors belong on the list? Whoever ranks for the search or sponsored the trade show Vendors that cannot serve your organization type, your must-have capabilities, your core spend categories, or your core freight modes are excluded before scoring begins
Does it fit where our spend sits? A checkbox for "direct materials" Depth in each of twelve spend categories, weighted by your own spend shares and validated through structured interviews
Will it connect to our ERP? An integrations logo wall How each vendor connects to your ERP family is recorded; a ready-made connector and an API connection to the same system score the same.
Will our suppliers adopt it? Rarely stated Supplier fee models assessed against the ones you accept, supplier-facing languages matched to yours, and the channels free to suppliers scored for every vendor
Can the decision be defended? A spreadsheet, reconstructed after the fact Every scoring decision written to an immutable, time-stamped record

You enter vendor conversations with a shortlist built on how your spend actually divides, and a written requirements list the vendor has already seen.

Why reviews and analyst reports do not settle it either.

Star ratings reward the vendors who work them hardest. Analyst reports track vendor scale and marketing budget rather than operational fit. Every source a client reaches for has someone else's incentive behind it, and in procurement the cost of choosing wrong is slow and expensive: buyers route around the system, suppliers never join it, and the license renews anyway.

PreShiftIQ is the independent alternative. We work for the client, we validate through interviews rather than reviews, and we exclude the vendors that cannot serve you before you ever see a shortlist.

Built for manufacturers, distributors, retailers, logistics providers, and public buyers.

A discrete manufacturer sourcing engineered components, a distributor buying for resale, and a public agency running regulated bids need different systems. Matching accounts for that before anything is scored.

Manufacturers, discrete and process

Direct-materials sourcing, supplier collaboration, should-cost and BOM depth, and the supplier risk that a single-source component carries.

Distributors and wholesalers

High-volume purchasing for resale, supplier onboarding at scale, invoice matching, and freight costs that land on every order.

Retailers and brand owners

Private-label and packaging sourcing, supplier compliance and traceability, and indirect spend across stores and distribution.

3PLs, carriers, and freight intermediaries

Freight procurement across modes, carrier pool models, rate benchmarks, and indirect spend that supports the network.

Public sector and institutional buyers

Regulated sourcing and bid management, e-invoicing mandates, data residency, and supplier records that hold up to audit.

What you get

A shortlist matched to your operation

Not the vendors who paid the most. The vendors that fit where your spend sits, what you buy, and how your suppliers will transact, scored on measured fit against your stated requirements.

Interview-validated scorecards

Vendor capability is validated through structured interviews, not self-reported marketing claims, so the category depth and coverage on your shortlist are what was checked.

Vendors who arrive prepared

The vendors you connect with already have your requirements in hand, so discovery starts where it usually ends. Better conversations, faster, and stronger cost avoidance on the decision itself.

How the supply chain procurement match works

  1. Complete a structured assessment of your procurement operation: how your spend divides across categories, the modules in scope, the freight modes you buy, your supplier base, your ERP, the supplier fee models you accept, and the terms you will not accept.
  2. Get matched on measured fit. Vendors that cannot serve your organization type or your core spend categories are excluded before scoring begins.
  3. Connect with a shortlist of qualified vendors who arrive at discovery already prepared.

PreShiftIQ charges the client nothing for the match. You decide which vendors, if any, to move forward with.

What you see as a client

Your results are yours alone. Vendors never see each other's standing, and your identity is released only to a vendor that accepts your engagement. You see the vendors that clear our recommendation threshold, each with a fit index and a match level.

Sample data shown for illustration. You receive each accepting vendor's scorecard exactly as it was measured for your match: the dimensions evaluated for your engagement, scored to one independent standard.

A platform that answers to you.

Our alignment is built into the platform, not just stated in a policy. Matching is payment-blind: what a vendor pays never enters the scoring path, and every scoring decision is written to an immutable, time-stamped record. The platform can demonstrate that your match was computed from measured fit and nothing else.

Your data is yours

Your information is released to a vendor only after that vendor accepts your match, and it is never sold or shared in identifiable form with anyone else.

Your team, your access

Invite colleagues or an advisor to help complete your assessment. You control who has access, and every collaborator is scoped to your account alone.

The category, covered.

0 supply chain procurement vendors mapped across the category and evaluated to one independent standard. You get the benefit of the category assessed as a whole, without doing the legwork yourself.

Catalog coverage, alphabetical; not a ranking or recommendation. Matches come only from the completed assessment of the client (the evaluating company).

  • Loading the covered vendors…

Catalog inclusion is factual: the vendor sells into this vertical. It is sourced from public information and interviews, is not removable on request, and is never an endorsement or a statement of participation. Corrections to name, ownership, or product line are always accepted at info@preshiftiq.com.

Supply chain procurement software selection questions

What is supply chain procurement software?

Supply chain procurement software runs how a company sources, contracts, buys, and pays across its supply chain: sourcing events and negotiation, contract management, supplier management and risk, spend analytics, intake and procure-to-pay, AP automation and e-invoicing, and, for companies that move goods, freight procurement and rate management. Some products cover the whole source-to-pay cycle as a suite; others do one module in depth. The right choice depends on which modules you are buying and where your spend actually sits.

Does it matter where our spend sits?

It decides the match. A company whose spend is mostly direct materials and freight needs different depth than one buying office supplies and software. PreShiftIQ asks how your addressable spend divides across twelve categories, from raw materials and packaging to freight, software, and energy, and weights each vendor's depth in those categories by your shares. A vendor with no capability in a category that carries a quarter or more of your spend is excluded before scoring begins.

Can a procurement platform run our freight bids?

Some can, and the ones that do differ by mode. Freight procurement means running bid events, awarding lanes, and managing rates across truckload, LTL, intermodal, ocean, air, parcel, and the other modes you buy. PreShiftIQ asks which modes you procure and which are core to your operation. A vendor that cannot support a core mode in its bid events is excluded before scoring begins, and vendors that cover your other modes score higher.

Does supply chain procurement software need to connect to our ERP?

For most companies, yes. The connection carries purchase orders, invoices, supplier records, and payments between the two systems; without it, someone enters them twice. PreShiftIQ records how each vendor connects to your ERP family, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, or Infor. Whether a vendor connects through a ready-made connector or through its API does not change its score.

Will our suppliers be charged to use the platform?

With some vendors, yes. Supplier networks are often funded by fees on suppliers, per document, by tier, or on every participating supplier, and those fees affect whether suppliers adopt the system at all. PreShiftIQ asks which supplier fee models you accept. Vendors whose model you did not accept score lower, and vendors that charge suppliers nothing score highest on commercial transparency.

Does company size decide which vendors fit?

No. Size alone never removes a vendor. PreShiftIQ credits vendors that serve customers your size and that have run deployments at your scale, but those credits add a small amount to fit and never exclude anyone. What removes a vendor is a requirement it cannot meet: the kind of organization you are, your must-have capabilities, your core spend categories, and your core freight modes.

Does PreShiftIQ charge the client anything?

No. PreShiftIQ charges the client (the evaluating company) nothing for the assessment, the match, or the shortlist. PreShiftIQ is paid by vendors at one published rate: 5 percent of first-year subscription value, due only when the matched client pays the vendor, the same for every vendor. There is no lead fee, and fee data has no input to the matching engine. Matching is payment-blind by architecture, not by policy.
