This Cookie Policy explains how PreShiftIQ™ ("PreShiftIQ," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on our website at preshiftiq.com and www.preshiftiq.com (the "Site"); on our application at app.preshiftiq.com, the application interface that serves it at api.preshiftiq.com, and our assistant-tool server at mcp.preshiftiq.com (together, the "Platform"); and on the sign-in pages at accounts.preshiftiq.com, which our authentication provider operates for us. The application interface and the assistant-tool server set no cookies and store nothing in your browser; every cookie and stored value described below is set on the Site, on app.preshiftiq.com, or on the sign-in pages. This policy uses the same definitions as our Privacy Policy and should be read alongside it.

1. What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site owner. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, and tags; throughout this policy, references to "cookies" include these similar technologies where applicable.

2. Cookies We Use

The cookies set on the Site and Platform fall into the following categories:

2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies and stored values are required for the Site and Platform to function properly. They cannot be switched off in our cookie banner because the Site and Platform will not work correctly without them. They include:

  • Session and security values set by the Squarespace platform on the Site to maintain page state and prevent cross-site request forgery (for example, a session cookie named crumb).
  • Your cookie banner choice on the Site, recorded by Squarespace in two cookies (ss_performancecookiesAllowed and ss_marketingcookiesAllowed) that last 30 days, so we do not prompt you on every page.
  • Authentication cookies set by our authentication provider, Clerk: a client cookie on the sign-in pages at clerk.preshiftiq.com that identifies your browser to Clerk for as long as your browser keeps it, and a short-lived session cookie on app.preshiftiq.com, renewed every minute while you are signed in, that carries your signed-in state to the application. The Platform cannot function without them.
  • Our payment processor, Stripe, remains integrated for future subscription and consultant fees, but Stripe's payment form and its fraud-prevention cookies load on no page of the Platform today. If a payment step is introduced, this policy is updated before it takes effect.
  • Your cookie banner choice on app.preshiftiq.com, stored by the Platform in your browser's local storage under psq_consent until you change it from the Cookie settings control on your Account page. The Site and the Platform each keep their own record; a choice made on one does not carry to the other.
  • Two short-lived sign-up integrity values, stored in your browser's session storage only while you create an account from a partner-branded address: psq_return_host (the address to return you to) and psq_signup_token (a signed token that secures that return). Both end with your browser session.
  • A lead-offer session cookie, psq_lead_session, set on app.preshiftiq.com when a vendor opens a lead offer from the link in its email. It holds a signed session naming that one lead offer and the vendor it was sent to, and nothing about the vendor's browser. It is HttpOnly, sent only over secure connections, SameSite=Strict, and sent only with that lead offer's own requests; it expires within two hours, and never later than the offer link itself, which lasts seven days. It lets the offer page work without the email link's credential staying in the page address.

2.2 Analytics and Performance Cookies

These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the Site and the Platform: which pages are viewed, how long visits last, and where traffic comes from. They are set only after you consent via the cookie banner. We currently use:

  • Squarespace Analytics (first-party) on the Site for basic visitor measurement: page views, sessions, referrers, and aggregate device and browser information. Its cookies (ss_cvr, ss_cid, ss_cpvisit, which last two years, and ss_cvt and ss_cvisit, which last 30 minutes) are set only after you accept performance cookies.
  • HubSpot for page-view analytics and contact activity on both the Site and app.preshiftiq.com. HubSpot's script does not load until you accept, and then sets its own cookies (__hstc and hubspotutk, six months; __hssc, 30 minutes; __hssrc, for the session). This records which pages you viewed and, if you later submit a form or otherwise identify yourself to us, associates that page activity with your contact record.

On app.preshiftiq.com we also measure page performance with Vercel Speed Insights. It sets no cookie and stores nothing in your browser, and Vercel states that its data points are not tied to any visitor or IP address, so it is not gated by the banner.

If we add additional analytics tools in the future (for example, Google Analytics 4), we will update this policy and the cookie banner to reflect that change.

2.3 Functional Cookies

Functional cookies remember choices you make to improve your experience, for example a dismissed announcement or display preferences. These are set as needed by the Squarespace platform on the Site.

2.4 Marketing and Advertising Cookies

PreShiftIQ™ uses the LinkedIn Insight Tag on the Site. When you consent, it reports to LinkedIn the page you viewed, the page that referred you, your IP address, your device and browser characteristics, and a timestamp. If you are a logged-in LinkedIn member, LinkedIn can associate that activity with your member profile. We use it to measure how our LinkedIn content performs and, with your consent, to build LinkedIn advertising audiences from Site activity so that we can show PreShiftIQ content to relevant audiences on LinkedIn.

The Insight Tag does not load, and no advertising audience is built from your visit, unless you accept marketing cookies through the cookie banner. Choosing Decline All prevents both.

We do not currently use the Meta Pixel or any other third-party advertising network on the Site or the Platform. If that changes, we will update this policy before it takes effect.

2.5 First-Party Attribution Storage

The Platform stores two first-party values in your browser's local storage so we know how you found us: psq_arrival (a source label such as the blog post or page that sent you, the referring page, and the landing path) and psq_ref (a referral code when a partner introduced you). They are written only after you accept cookies through the banner (a visit before your choice is held in memory and discarded if you decline), are read only by PreShiftIQ™, and are never shared with third parties. They have no fixed expiry: if you create an account, the arrival source and any referral code are recorded with your account so we know how you found us and can compensate referral partners, and both values are removed from your browser at that point. When you arrive from an AI assistant through our assistant-tool server, the arrival source label carries an mcp- prefix (for example, mcp-claude); it travels this same consented path and creates no additional storage.

3. Third-Party Cookies

Some pages may include embedded content from third-party services (for example, social media icons or external links). These third parties may set their own cookies if you interact with their content. PreShiftIQ™ does not control these cookies; please refer to each third party's privacy policy for details. As of the Last Updated date above, neither the Site nor the Platform embeds third-party video, chat, scheduling, or social feed widgets that set tracking cookies.

4. Your Choices

You have several ways to control cookies:

Cookie banner. When you first visit the Site, you may Accept all, Decline all, or Manage cookies to choose which non-essential categories to allow; you can revisit that choice at any time through the Cookie Preferences control the Site shows after you choose. When you first visit app.preshiftiq.com, you may Accept all or Decline all, and you can revisit that choice from the Cookie settings control on your Account page. Each keeps its own record. Analytics and marketing cookies, including HubSpot's and the LinkedIn Insight Tag, are not loaded until you accept them.

Browser settings. Most browsers allow you to view, delete, and block cookies. Doing so may affect Site and Platform functionality.

Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, app.preshiftiq.com treats it as Decline all: no analytics or marketing script loads, and no attribution value is stored, unless you later accept from the Cookie settings control on your Account page. The Site's cookie banner is operated by Squarespace, outside our code, and we do not control whether it reads the signal.

Do Not Track. We do not currently respond to Do Not Track browser signals, as no consistent industry standard exists.

5. International Users

If you are visiting the Site from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with similar requirements, non-essential cookies are not set until you provide affirmative consent through the cookie banner. If you are visiting from California or another U.S. state with consumer privacy laws, you may exercise the rights described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Site, the Platform, the technologies we use, or applicable law. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy indicates when it was most recently revised. Material changes will be reflected in the cookie banner.
