PreShiftIQ matches vendors to a buyer's completed operational assessment: you answer current-state and future-state questions, a payment-blind engine removes the vendors that cannot serve the documented operation, scores the rest on measured fit against interview-validated scorecards, and records every match immutably. The PreShiftIQ connector puts that mechanism inside Claude, ChatGPT, and any assistant that speaks the Model Context Protocol: when you ask about transportation management, dock scheduling, ELD, carrier vetting, or fleet management technology, the assistant answers from PreShiftIQ's live coverage, the same counts and rosters the website reads, instead of from whatever it happens to remember.

It is a matching platform, not a directory or review site. The connector is free and reads nothing from your conversation. Adding it and using the public tools need no account; the signed-in tools answer only after you sign in to PreShiftIQ.

How do I connect it in Claude?

  1. Open Customize, then Connectors.
  2. Choose the plus button, then Add custom connector. Name it PreShiftIQ and enter the server URL below. Leave the advanced OAuth fields empty; no credentials are entered when you add it, and the signed-in tools prompt you to sign in when you first use them.
  3. Choose Add. Six public tools appear under the connector, and three more that answer only after you sign in to PreShiftIQ.
  4. In a new chat, open the plus menu, choose Connectors, and switch PreShiftIQ on. Then ask your question.

Custom connectors are available on Claude Free (one connector), Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise; on Team and Enterprise an Owner adds the connector under Organization settings and members connect to it. How do I connect it in ChatGPT?

  1. Open Settings, then Security and login, and turn on Developer mode.
  2. Go to chatgpt.com/plugins and choose Create MCP App. Name it PreShiftIQ and enter the server URL below.
  3. Set Authentication to OAuth. Under Advanced OAuth settings, keep the defaults ChatGPT discovers from the server: registration by client ID metadata document, the PreShiftIQ sign-in endpoints, the scopes psq.buyer.read and psq.vendor.read, offline_access as the base scope, and OpenID Connect off.
  4. Choose Create, then Connect. Sign in to PreShiftIQ and approve the access it asks for.
  5. In a new chat, choose Developer mode from the plus menu and select PreShiftIQ. Then ask your question.

For organizations: Gemini Enterprise and Microsoft Copilot Studio

  1. An administrator requests a connection at info@preshiftiq.com.
  2. PreShiftIQ sets up one connection for each organization and product, and delivers a client ID and an encrypted client secret to the administrator.
  3. Each person signs in with their own PreShiftIQ account and sees only their own records.

Gemini Enterprise setup

  1. An Organization Policy Administrator turns off the constraint discoveryengine.managed.disableCustomMcpServerConnector for the Google Cloud project. Google enforces it by default, and it blocks custom MCP servers.
  2. Set Google Identity as the identity provider, for the global location.
  3. Create a data store of type Custom MCP Server with the server URL https://mcp.preshiftiq.com/mcp and OAuth 2.0, entering the client ID, the client secret, and the authorization URL, token URL and scopes PreShiftIQ sends with them. Turn on PKCE and HTTP Basic, add the authorization URL parameter &resource=https://mcp.preshiftiq.com/mcp, and choose Verify Auth.
  4. Enable the data store's actions.
  5. Create an app and link the data store to it.
  6. Each person opens the connectors menu in the Gemini Enterprise web app and chooses Authorize for PreShiftIQ, signing in with their own PreShiftIQ account.

Copilot Studio setup

  1. Use a Copilot Studio agent in the classic experience, with generative orchestration turned on.
  2. In Tools, add a Model Context Protocol server with the server URL https://mcp.preshiftiq.com/mcp and OAuth 2.0, type Manual, entering the client ID and the client secret PreShiftIQ sends you. A PreShiftIQ connector already in the environment can be added instead.
  3. Enter the authorization URL exactly as PreShiftIQ sends it, ending in &psq_pad=, which keeps the parameters Copilot Studio appends intact. Use https://clerk.preshiftiq.com/oauth/token as the token and refresh URL, and the scopes PreShiftIQ sends.
  4. Upload the connector icon in the same dialog, when the server is created. Never edit or save the connector in Power Automate afterwards: that save can drop the PKCE setting the sign-in requires.
  5. Send the callback URL Copilot Studio shows to info@preshiftiq.com. PreShiftIQ registers it and tells you when it is in place.
  6. Create the connection, sign in with your own PreShiftIQ account, and add the tool to the agent.

What can the connector do?

Six public tools, each read-only, each answering from the same live readers the website uses. The connector holds no copy of the catalog. Three signed-in tools also appear under the connector; each is read-only and answers only after you sign in to PreShiftIQ.

  • Describe PreShiftIQ. What the platform is, how matching works, and how it is paid, in the platform's own words.
  • List covered technology categories. The five covered categories, each with its live vendor count.
  • List covered vendors in one category. The alphabetical catalog for one category, as coverage: no scores, no participation status, no order other than alphabetical, and each vendor carries its permanent PreShiftIQ identifier.
  • Explain how matching works. Disqualification first, then measured-fit scoring against interview-validated scorecards, payment-blind, with the live tier thresholds and every match recorded immutably.
  • How PreShiftIQ is paid. Buyers pay nothing. Vendors pay one published rate, due only when a matched buyer becomes their customer, and that payment never enters the matching math.
  • Start an assessment. A link into the free assessment for the category you choose. Nothing is created until you complete it.

What does the connector not do?

It does not read your conversation, your files, or anything else in your assistant. The public tools need no account and never return match results. The signed-in tools answer only after you sign in to PreShiftIQ, and return only the signed-in account's own records. And nothing a vendor pays can change what the connector returns, because the mechanism that produces catalog and match outputs cannot read the mechanism that produces fees.

Is the connector free?

Yes, for everyone. There is no charge to connect it, no charge to use it, and no charge to buyers at any point in the assessment or match. Vendors pay one published rate, 5 percent of first-year contract value, only when a matched buyer becomes their customer; the full terms are on the How We Are Paid page.

What does the connector send to my assistant?

From the public tools, only what preshiftiq.com already publishes: the platform description, the category list with live counts, the alphabetical catalog per category, the matching and payment explanations, and the assessment link, which can include a business name. PreShiftIQ records each tool call as an append-only event with the tool name, a timestamp, and a hash of the arguments, never the arguments themselves; what your assistant's provider retains from tool results is governed by that provider's own policy. Does a vendor in the catalog participate or pay?

Catalog inclusion is factual: the vendor sells into this vertical. It is sourced from public information and interviews, is not removable on request, and is never an endorsement or a statement of participation. Corrections to name, ownership, or product line are always accepted at info@preshiftiq.com.

What terms apply?

The Assistant-Surface Terms of Use govern the connector: what it returns, what it does not, and how it may be used. The Privacy Policy, section 5B, describes what PreShiftIQ records.

Which assistants are supported?

Any client that speaks the Model Context Protocol to a remote server over HTTPS, on the 2026-07-28 revision or any 2024 or 2025 revision before it, can use the public tools. The signed-in tools answer Claude and ChatGPT, and Gemini Enterprise and Microsoft Copilot Studio through a connection PreShiftIQ sets up for an organization. I run a consulting practice. Can my clients use it?

Yes, and the coverage and the assessment link are the same for everyone, so it is a fair starting point for a client conversation. Consultant tools that run a client's assessment through the engine as a what-if, before any vendor is contacted, are on the roadmap and will require a signed-in connection.
